This has been a very busy month at Flex Academy. Many events have taken place this month with more to come.

In October we completed our fall parent conferences. It was great to see the very high turn-out. I appreciated the investment in time by all the parents and our staff. It is imperative that parents and teachers are on the same page and can support their student.

Be mindful that the end of the quarter is very soon, on November 3. Report cards will be issued on November 15. Continue to watch your  student’s grades in Skyward and contact teachers about any questions or concerns.

Also, in November, will be the SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment) retakes for English/Language Arts and Math. Students who need to take the tests are aware of the requirement at this time.

I am pleased to announce that we have been awarded, for the second consecutive year, a $10,000 grant from U.S. Bank. This funding will be used to continue our enhancement of outdoor learning spaces, indoor maker space, and field trips to colleges. U.S. Bank is a believer in our work here at Flex! It is a privilege to have them as a supporter of our vision for our school.

Finally, it is never too early to be planning for graduation! Seniors have selected the graduation announcements and soon it will be time to start planning for events such as the senior breakfast and party. In order to provide a memorable experience, please consider volunteering for the events. A planning meeting will be announced in the next few months.
